Kevincares2018

Kevincares2018 is to keep the memory alive of my golden boy Kevin. Kevin sadly passed away at just 1 year old on the 23rd January 2018, after battling for his life for 17 days. Sadly, unbeknown to us Kevin ate a dishcloth, he didn’t show any signs of illness at first, then he started to itch. Due to his allergies, we put it down to something in the environment, but the itch got worse. He attended the vets, and again it was put down to his allergies. A week later he went very quiet and over the course of a weekend he attended the vets several times due to a high temperature and being lethargic, this went on for 4 days until he was admitted. Following that he had countless tests, X-rays, 3 major surgeries, 3 plasma transfusions, and a full blood transfusion but sadly the peritonitis got hold and it was just too strong for him to fight and therefore he gained his angel wings.

As a registered charity, we will help support families that are struggling with vet bills in an emergency just like myself, due to not being able to get insurance.

Donations can be made to Kevincares2018 via PayPal to kevincares2018@outlook.com

Kevin wasn't just my dog, he was my world, he was the mascot for Harvey's Army and he was a fabulous support to his brother Henry who has K9 Autism. He helped raise money for charity from the day he came home to live with me, and now he is over Rainbow Bridge I will make sure we continue to raise money for pups in need like him.

Meet the team

Kim Breckon
Founder

I have always loved dogs but it was only when I lost Kevin I actually realised just how much. Kevin along with his brother Henry were my world and losing Kevin lost left a huge hole. I set kevincares2018 up in his name to honour the love and support that I received whilst he was fighting for his life in the vets and I   promised that we would give back to help with all the donations that supported Kevin's treatment, the only thing is I thought Kevin would be at my side. Kevin had other idea’s, he was going to wait on Rainbow bridge and meet all the little ones that we were unable to save and take care of them up there until they meet with their family again. So here we are an amazing small but mighty charity to help support people who are really struggling to pay their vet fees. All thanks to my boy Kevin.

Trustee

Hi, I'm Diane and I'm a Trustee of this wonderful Charity, kevincares2018. I live with my husband and our little Westie, Dougal. We are both huge  animal lovers which is one of the reasons that kevincares2018 is so close to our hearts. But the main reason is, that during Kevin's short life, we were his daycare slaves. He would stay with us on days when Kim was working away from home and our home became a second home to him, and he felt like a huge part of our family. Kevin and our Westie, Dougal, would play together for hours,   getting up to all sorts of mischief. We all miss him so much, but are so proud of the legacy that he has left behind.
